props and costumes

This Prezi shows the props and costumes we intend to use for film. This was done so that we knew what props we had to bring and how to dress our actors. We have chosen them in a way that we believe you could have come across them in the time our film is set.

Our cast and Crew

Our cast

David Phillip

He is our first actor he plays the person getting beaten up. We have chosen him as he has the right body  of the person we imagined who would play that role.

Sam Bown
He is the actor to play the role of the larger person beating up the the first actor. We have chosen him as he is very tall and strong just as we imagined the character. He is also a drama student and experienced in acting.

Alexander Freakley

Alexander FreakleyAlex is a very skilled camera man and editor. He has lots of experience and will be co director, co cameraman and co writer. He will also partake in acting as the third character who wields the knife. We choose him due to a last minute drop out. He doesn't look like how we initially thought of the character but as a tall skinny person he has given the character a different style.

Chris is cast as co editor co director and cameraman. He has some editing experience as well as directing.

risk assesment

Below you can find the risk assessment i have created for our shoot. This was done to ensure the safety of our actors and crew.

location and location shots

These are the location shots for our shooting location. We have chosen this area as it looks quite secluded and away from most civilization. It looks as so as if it was in the middle of a Forrest. This is good as it shows isolation and the scene which is something which should take place in such an environment.

location shots taken by Alex Freakley.

shot list

This is the shotlist/shooting script of our film.

The shots we have chosen here are an array of long panning shots as well as medium closeups and high shots. We did this to give our self a plan for when we film. We created it using a template give to us by our teacher but we were unable to upload it so we had to copy it into this format.
this shot list was created by Alexander Freakly.

animatic of our story board

This is the animatic we crated from our storyboard with the music we intend to use in our final piece. This was created by Alexander Freakley.

sound preparation

In our film we want to use both Foley sounds as well as a score.
The score we have chosen to accompany parts of our film is this one:

This will not be used as dietetic  music but as a background score. It is not music which is natural to the time our film is set in but as it is non dietetic we think it is good to use as it sets the right mood for our film and it has some faster paced and louder parts near the end which can fit nicely towards the end of our clip. Even though this is not music which was typical for the 50's.

Here is a screen shot of the webpage which shows its usage rights.

aural diagram

In this film noir intro there is,

1, A Big title with dramatic music.

2, Panned shot with title.

3, Small title at the bottom showing the rights   reserved.

4, Music gets softer.

5, Title with a rose in the background.

6. Title with gun in the background.

7, Title with multiple roses in the background.

This story board was drawn by Emma Scarpa. This was done to ensure that on  shooting day we knew what to film, how our cameras should be set up and how long each shot has to take.

Production company

A list of the most famous production companies are dreamworks,MGM, The weinstein company, Lions Gate, Paramount, 20th Century fox, Universal, Diseny, Warner Bros, Son pictures.

The production company who would suit best to our film would be Warner Bros as they quite often produce noir movies. They also are a very big company so they could provide money for distribution and marketing.

Audience category

I would put my audience member in the 24-35 age group. I find that the type of movie I am aiming to make is for older  more mature audience. I don't think i would place them exclusively into this age group but most likely not 15-24 year old or younger but

The income class of my audience would most likely be ABC1 as the movie would show examples of of lives which they would be most likely to relate to or most likely be interested in. Where the other income brackets most likely would not be interested in the themes portrayed in my movie.

It would be aimed at mainly a male audience. Audience is very evenly split but i feel a movie like mine would attract a majority of men.

perfect audience member

I think that some people in the Blingers tribe would watch my video as it is film noir as it has classy clothing and good stories. People that are in a triple such a Blingers would look like this,

The food that the Blingers would eat is expensive and good quality. The sort of food would be lots of meat and fish etc, The music that they would listen to would be classical and classy. They would properly he happy with dance music if ever at a VIP club.
The food that Hippies would eat would be around the lines of vegetarian food and healthy food. Food that is good for you and the making of did not harm the environment. The music that they would listen to would be slow moving and peaceful. They would not like classical or dance / pop music.

I thing that the people in the Hippy tribe would be interested in watching my video with he genre

being film noir as they are a fan of the good funky clothing as would interest them greatly. People in a Hippy tribe would look like this,

Moodboard and analysis

In this mood board I have used images which represent what I would like my film to be like. I have selected the image of a font which I want to use in my film for the title. This font is good because it is very smart and easily legible. It is also something that resembles the style of the era in which we would like to set our film.
Next i have the pictures of 3 props. The knuckle busters are there as they are something which might be used to beat onto a tied up person for interrogation or torture. The shotgun is something probably held by the third person to intimidate. The radio is there because it is a prop I would like to have because it can be playing in the background adding diagetic music to the whole scene.
The last two images are about costume and setting. The man with the black suit and hat is wearing what i would consider the the two non interrogated men to wear. While the other picture shows what the interrogated man would look like and also the kind of place we would be shooting our film in.
